| We
are using the "Colgate Platinum Tooth Whitening
System"®. This is currently the only bleaching
system on the market that is endorsed by the American
Dental Association. It is the ONLY product, which has
undergone extensive testing and has been proven to be
safe, both to tissue and teeth, as well as being 95%
effective.
What
you can and cannot expect with the bleaching process:
| 1. |
Bleaching
may not work on every person, although studies show
it to produce results on 95% of the population tested. |
| |
|
| 2. |
Bleaching
will not whiten tooth colored fillings or crowns.
It only works on natural teeth. |
| |
|
| 3. |
Bleaching
will usually result in a 1 - 1½ step improvement
on a shade guide. |
| |
|
| 4. |
Some
people may develop sensitive teeth during the bleaching
process. This is only temporary; but let our office
know if this occurs. |
| |
|
| 5. |
The
whitening of the teeth will generally last 18 -
26 months. Another treatment may be necessary, but
usually a much shorter treatment period (4-5 days)
is required. |
| |
|
| 6. |
Upper
and lower arches are treated separately. |
| |
|
| 7. |
Bleaching
is not an insurance covered expense. |
| |
|
| 8. |
Bleaching
is not recommended for people with exposed roots,
or habitual tobacco and alcohol users. |
